I told you Ancient Kanooka was nice to turn.
Kanooka (kanuka, box) Tristaniopsis exiliflora / Tristaniopsis laurina.
Tristaniopsis is a member of the Myrtaceae family the same as Eucalyptus.
Kanooka is normaly red and turns black after it has been buried for a few million years.
I thought that was what I heard Ken, but the mind boggles!!!!

Yes, it's amazingly wonderful to turn. Where do you get it from?

KDM, it might not be at the thickness a hairstick is. I like my sticks unbendy.

The Kanooka comes from a friend, a wood dealer.
If you want wood that doesn't bend, try the Kanooka in its natural state. The heart wood of the Mulga won't bend either.
