​Neglected Timber BLUEBIRD > FREE

Moored in Sydney Harbour and as you can see from the warts and all photos, this little classic requires an amount of work before she sails once again. Window replacement on the post side. The cockpit needs a rebuild. Forward hatch is missing. The combing needs work. As with all timber boats, wood rot is the enemy. Hull sound and dynel sheaved to just below topsides.You rarely see a timber Bluebird with timber mast & boom. A classic. The engine needs an exhaust manifold. If you are a handy person who works in wood, knows about engines, then I would say...have a look. The best thing is the decks have been dynel sheaved the cabin top......all solid with no delamination. I have all the blocks, cleats, bollards, winches, sails etc. These need to be refitted. The majority of the work is replacing timber and a great deal is surface restoration. The engine - not seized - was running about 4 years ago. - needs a manifold exhaust ( silver pipe in photo of new engine) BUKH DV 10L ME. Best removed and replaced with a bracketed outboard I reckon. I sailed this Australian classic for over 20 years and I would hate to see her chainsawed and sent to the tip.
