This is another very rare boat.

It will be a long time before we see another wooden flying fifteen for sale!

A real classic that deserves to be fixed up or at least kept in stable condition.

The best thing you can do with boats in OK condition is just to use them regularly. The FF is light enough to trailer.

I don't do a lot of posting here but just wan't to say to you two (SimonP and BoatMik) that I thoroughly enjoy getting these Rescue and Adoption posts. Meanwhile, having just sold the laser, I'm getting back to fixing the Hartley TS16 that's sitting out the front which means visiting a few forum strings on Rot and Epoxy. It's not surprising to find a lot of helpful information and also unsurprising to find that it's often one of you that did the posting. Thanks again.

There's one for sale just south of Kettering here in Tasmania that we saw a few days ago. It's standing just off the road on its trailer.

Thanks Rik, sometimes I wonder if I'm boring everyone posting these, as not many people post replies. I don't know much about these boats, but they interest me immensely, because I'm sure they have a soul. When I got my old Hartley it was quite a different feeling to when I've owned plastic boats. Even my kids felt it.
It's great to have Mik, Woodeneye and others share their knowledge of these pieces of boating history.

Looking at the rot in my Hartley the suggestions of a Sonata or an RL as my next step up do get a little attractive but I'm sure that they, like the old Laser (just sold) in my front yard , have their own problems, and I have missed my little Hartley TS12 since I passed it on.
There is something about the warmth of Timber isn't there.

Nope. I look at every link you put up Simon, most enjoyable. They've got boats in them.

What a lovely example. This was a postwar thoroughbred from (I think) Uffa Fox in the UK. They went like a blur! Always wanted one, could never afford one then.

I really wish we could steal the pics from ePAY to keep a permanent record of the boat thread on the woodwork forum servers.

I do think some of the threads that have built up around some of the boat rescue ones might save some of the classes. That Gwen 12 thread just keeps going and going with all sorts of past owners and new owners rolling up.

I think this one might eventually go the way of that lovely old Dragon.

As for the images, the problem is that if you copy the image's URL, eB@y will eventually delete them, and then they are lost forever. This is a problem with all these posts. Isn't it frustrating when you read through old posts and the images have gone to God? I had a lot of images saved on my ISP's server that all disappeared from another forum when I changed ISPs. I felt pretty bad about that, because they were technical "how-to" types of images and highly relevant to the posts. That's why it's always best to save them and upload them to this forum's server in order to preserve them. I started doing that a while ago, especially if the pics have high relevance to the post or are valuable from a historical perspective.

The other problem that MIK was alluding to is copyright. The ones with the eB@y symbol on them are copyrighted, but these ones don't appear to be as they are probably uploaded to the customer's own server and displayed by eB@y. Howewever, they might be copyrighted, but I'm pretty sure the owner wouldn't mind in this instance, given that we are increasing his exposure for the sale for free

Hi Simon, not sure what happened when I clicked on the E Bay thingy but I found a 20' mullet boat for sale, the adress given was Devonport Tas but the photos clearly show that it was in a mud berth at Port Sorrel Tas (about 25 kms from Devonport).
I think I was admiring it over XMas, and reminicing about the goods days I spent there some 40 years ago. Any how enough of all the dreamy stuff, from memory it looked like a very sturdy boat.
I also enjoy your post about boats for sale keep them coming
