I don't think she would suit putting a shed on the back , and setting her up as a gaff cutter ! .

I used to live near Halvorsens boatshed at Berrys Bay in Sydney there was a small swimming pool next to it and was a favourite gathering spot for all us callow youths,had great fun.Spent hours watching the shipwrights building boats,repairing them,it was great watching them evolve from a basic framework into a cruiser or yacht.The place started of small and it just got bigger and bigger over the years. I loved the craftsmanship that went into them.Sadly most Halvorsen boats are now built in Thailand.My Aunt still owns a 60footer which she calls a hole in the ground into which you pour money,luckily my nephew shares expenses with her.My forebears were from a mixed marraige of Scottish grandmother and Norwegian grandfather,he also was a keen boatbuilder but only small stuff, dinghies etc,Its in the genes I think,as my father and uncles were all boatbuilders,not earning a living from it but as a hobby, and always had something being built in their backyards.

Well , there you go !.
My forebearers (sp) on my mothers side were Scots , and used to build fishing boats , when they weren't fighting somewhere , and on my Fathers side was a Finnish kid who jumped ship here in the 1850's also.
I didn't see any boatbuilding myself till maybe 8-10 years ago .
But better late than never !.

Pindimar , is that your boat ?.
Its a Bolger , isn't it ?.
Would be ideal for those conditions on Pindimar Bay.
Portland is a deep water port , so no problems here , except you would have to be careful around the reefs.

a Bolger Micro, it does OK at Pindimar although launching off the beach requires a good tide to get it in and out! in that photo you can see we got back when the tide was way down, so had to leave the boat out over night.

I just got a carbon fibre mainmast through Ross Lillistone of Bayside Wooden Boats in QLD, that, and re-doing the portlights to a better shape is keeping me busy over the Christmas break.

Portland would be a good place for the Halvorsen then, and SA is just up the track a bit!

Well , if the micro suits you , and where you sail from , thats perfect !.
I've already got a very nice sailboat , that I've spent a lot of money on , I'm looking for something with a shed on it now , that I can stand up on and troll/fish from.

Yes , its certainly a string to the HS bow , having that painting done.
I'm tossing up whether to go out sailing today , or tomorrow .
Today is 16 kn winds , and a 3 metre slop from the south east .
Tomorrow is just a 8 knot breeze , and a 2 metre slop from the south east.
I wouldn't mind going out today , but my arms haven't recovered from last time yet.
I'll wait till tomorrow.
