Default Jack Pompei boat needs restore

    Hi
After missing out on a couple of well restored clinker putt putts I came across this one at the Melbourne Wooden Boat Festival.
Spoke to some chaps from Wooden Boat Ass who thought it was good value and an easy restore.
Spoke to owner who said it should "take up" if sunk for 2-3 days.
I will be able to sand and finish ok but am not confident with the woodwork.
The motor is only 1HP and I think it will need a larger motor maybe a Blaxland twin 8HP or similar
The boat was built in 1942, for the Albert Park Angling Club, out of Queensland sugar pine and restored 20 years ago, it has been out of the water for the last 4-5 years.
Any thoughts, advice or comments greatly appreciated.

    Nick

It looks like it could be a fun project.

As for not being confident with the woodwork well join the club but after some research, questions here and lots of pics of your problems and solutions you will learn as you go.

So jump in and give it a go.

    Cheers
    Mike
