    Default Amazing idea

mate of mine has bought a double garage S/H

nothing wrong with that but wise fella had very carefully measured up all uprights etc and numbered so everything would go back in right place. OK so far

zinger....he had slab poured and put in 1m metal stumps with all the correct protection then welded the original frame on top, making whole shed 1 m taller, but the colourbond cladding was original size.... fixed it from base level and finishes with <1m gap at top that is then covered with white polycarbonate sheeting, this allows an amazing amount of natural light into shed but no one can look in.
absolutely amazing, he is in Adelaide next time I am there I'll remember to take some pics

Sounds like a great cheap way of getting a garage.
Wonder how the polycarbonate goes for security?

just as easy to unscrew a polycarbonate sheet as a metal one ......both don’t offer security

If one is not planning on removing it again, big glob of silicone over the screw head works wonders, and the poly is well above head height anyway

Thanks for that idea Tony, somehow a 4m wide X 4m high shed just doesn't look quite right. Wish you'd posted this a few years ago

It certainly is a cheap way of getting a garage, I got both of mine this way. The total cost of my sheds was $600 and they gave me 14X4 total. Unfortunately the concrete doesn't come with them, that cost me$3500
When the polycarbonate is about 3m in the air, it's about as safe as the rest of the shed, if not more!!!
