It is coming together at last
We have got all the machines assembled and put somewhere near where we want them.
Most of them are on wheels so can be moved away from the wallls when we need to use them.
We have to decide on a final resting place for those that have to be bolted to the floor.
It is starting to look like a workshop though.
Starting to get exciting now.

Just me or is everyone photo out of focus?
I see you have the AirCell type insulation on the walls. Did it go on and the external walls get screwed over it? I thought there had to be a 40mm gap for it to work. Am wondering as I have some left over and want to line my walls with it. If i can just put it behind my internal wall lining without worrying too much about the 40mm gap business then all the better.
Did you import those machine? Or are they from an Aussie supplier?

I'd be excited too, especially with that drum sander.
Now make some dust to look like you've done more than drool and lean.

We have the aircell insulation on both the house and the shed.
It went between the frame and the external walls.
I got most of the machines from Hare and forbes and the rest from CarbaTec.
Learned my lesson about buying overseas when I bought a 120 Volt circular saw a few years ago and Couldn't use it in Australia.
In those days step-Downers were not that common and VERY pricey, so that was a waste of money.
I also like to have a warranty back-up when I spend so much money.

Actually, seeing it is an insurance replacement after cyclone YASI, it took a lot of heartache to get this far.
16 months without a workshop and 12 months without a house, has been hell on earth.
We started on the electrical connections yesterday. Drawing all the wires ourselved then only have to wait for the leccie to connect to the switchboard.
Then it is on to the Dust extraction connections.
We have decided to run them on the wall and then just connect the machines up to y-connections as we use them. Unused ones capped of course.

Hi wolfie,
glad to here you are getting back on track. Last year was certainly a tough one. We flooded here in Ipswich and after what we went through, I have to agree with you it was hell on earth. We ended up with 2.2m of water through the shed and 1.8 in the house. We were lucky as we were able to get 90% of our belongings out including all my tools. I know there were worse off than us but I can attest I do not want experience that ever again. I hope that we will see some of your work posted here for us all to share soon,Dave,

Hi Bluegum
I agree with you, Ipswich got a beating and a half.
YASI took the house and the sheds (I am sure the gennie shed is still floating around somewhere in the rainforest, maybe turned into a croc shelter?) and the tidal surge made sure what was left of the house couldn't be saved.
I could cheerfully have throttled my neighbour when she told me that we got a nice new house and maybe it would be their turn next time
But we stay true to our motto here "Bit By Bit, Day By Day"
