How much does it cost to build a new shed
Dear All,
Apologies if this has been discussed previously.
We are looking to move house, and have found a property, but it has no shed. We (obviously) need to budget to put up a new shed, but I have no idea how much to budget for.
Ideally I would like a 6m x 12m shed, with a 2nd storey.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how much roughly this would cost?
Many thanks,

Depends where you buy it.
My single story 9m x 6 m shed ended up costing me around $30.000 all included, like concrete slab, erection of the shed, insulation and power connected.

I got a price for a 9m x 20m shed with a second level over 8m of the 20. They are in 4M segments so you can have the second floor in those segments.
That was 30,000 if you put it up yourself. 5,000 more if they do it.
Now the bad bit, The concrete floor will cost you another 30,000 to have put in.

$30K...??? Seriously??!!
My 12M x 7.5M with 3M walls from Safety Steel structures cost me around $5K to buy 8 years ago, and I erected it myself (they quoted $2K). Concrete was around $3K... Under $2K for power, but I did all the grunt work digging trenches and running cable through the house roof and the conduit.
I know steel prices have gone up since then, as has concrete... but three-fold?Too many projects, so little time, even less money! Are you a registered member? Why not? click here to register. 9x20 would be twice the size of your shed.
And everything doubles in price every 10 years or so.
It was also 4.5m walls for the mezzanine floor to exist, 4m roller door as well.
I didn't think it was that unreasonable.
My quote was 8 months ago I guess.

It depends what you mean by a "shed" as a shell, floor and a few power points and lights are often just the beginning.
I was fortunate enough to convince SWMBO that things like, insulation, lining, sink, air con, reticulated compressed air, and fully ducted dust extraction is part of the cost of the shed.

shed
Depends on what you want...... and where you are.......and how much hard work you want to put in.
In the bush, you can cut poles for the uprights and cross beams, measure and cut out sections to allow the cross beams to fit across the tops of the poles, dig holes then hire a crane to place the poles in the holes and the uprights across, then fit them together with ties.
You will then need some 3 x 2s to connect the cross beams and to fix along the walls for the corrugated iron.
Some second corrugated iron will do for the walls and if any good, for the roof as well with lots of silicon.
Cross ventilation is through the gate to keep the cows out and a 20 metre x 6 metre shed with solid dust floor will cost you $400 for the crane and a similar amount for a gate and corrugated iron, say $1000 for the lot including nails and doctor's fees, cheaper if you have a forklift or good tractor that will save the crane hire.

The concrete slabs are the items that have gone up the most in price recently.

rammed dirt floor
Increasing cement costs due to the carbon tax will have us all back to the 1880s when my grandfolks used to live in a very green environment.
