    Alan...
Over here he'd be dead by now, but maybe not for pie filling. We used to catch around two a week in the bush at the back of our property. We would take them to a neighbour who would pluck the fur and send it to her sister who would spin it with wool and knit beanies. But our place backs on to a reserve, and the council have had a poisoning program running for about ten years. We've only heard 3 or 4 possums over that period, and only caught one.

    Cheers, Vann.

That picture of the Possy looks like the one I have in my shed. I have been sharing the shed with them, yes them, for a long time now. I made 2 boxes to house them and set the boxes over the rolla doors at the apex of the roof. They can easily come and go. Directly in front of the boxes is an RSJ that carries a chain bock. Well that "mono rail" is the "expressway" to move around the shed. And yes Possom has anointed the full 15 metres length of the RSJ. When it rains there is an organic smell to the shed until the humidity dries out.
As I have said the Possy Family have been dossing down in the shed for some years. I have seen up to 3 in there at times. I don't mind at all having them visit. In our 10 year drought of late I think they would be doing it tough due to not much growing. The other afternoon I could here one of them having a scratch and bumping his leg on the box. I went and got an apple cut it in half and offered it up for them to have a snack. They snatched the apples off the stick I used and hooked in. They are cute little fellas
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

You might have possums, but I've got a dragon.

This guy (or girl) quite often sits up on top of my garage wall watching me.

I would swap my possum for a few dragons. Dragons are a nice garden feature but possums need serious management.

as a kid a rescued a baby possum and had him as a pet, he would curl his tail around the top cross bar on my peddle bike, then climb up around my neck when getting messages for mum. when we had our own little kids we had the dragons, all fine until one child dropped the new box of crickets behind the washing machine. the noise holey moley.
I would love to grow my own food, but I can not find bacon seeds
