Things are happening
Concreter came out on Sunday to check site and quote, rang me this morning with price and is finishing up a job now and will start at the end of the week .
Sparky has been worded up and is not taking time off this year, so can start when needed .
Power company is going to bring in a second line and meter for the shed, so house and shed will be seperate, which is all good .Cheers

Flaming heck DJ, that Toyo must have some decent pulling power. That trailer must literally weigh a ton!
As for the never say die ute, is she just a trusty paddock bomb with a 253?I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Yeah the Toyo has heaps off grunt, she pulled that load no problemo .
Just as well that the trailer has brakes on all four wheels too.
As for the paddock bomb, she has the old 202 with Ford electronic ignition and 5spd Toyota gearbox. Starts first go everytime.
If fuel and rego wasn't so much she would still be on the road now.
It has been the most reliable ute for the last 15yrs that she was on the road and boy has she done alot of K,s.Cheers

Strewth, looks like struggle town for the trailer!!
That's a beautiful looking location you've got their DJ, I'm very envious. It's better to be thought of as a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt!

Bobcat arrived this morning and has made a start .
One of the tree stumps is proving to be a bit of a bother and the bobcat can't quite budge it. So he is bringing his bigger brother the excavator in to whip the stump into submission  .
Will update later as more happens.Cheers

We finally got the stump out. Had to cut in deeper than I thought, so the stump had to come right out. Could have saved on the hire of the stump grinder , ahh well.
Anyway the site has been excavated and levelled.
Will be back on Monday to bore the pad holes and lay crusher dust and box up.
Getting all excited now , will have the slab down before XmasCheers

Crush rock and mesh delivered today
Rock has been spread and concreter will be boxing up in the morning .
Rang the local shire today to book inspection of pad holes and slab prep work and was told they couldn't get anyone out until after we want to pour concrete due to their department been downsized and people off on holidays or being crook  .
The permit states that I need to give them 24hrs notice for an inspector to be booked and here I am giving them at least 48hrs notice
I told them I will take photos and send them in but this was not good enough. They said I could get a private engineer to certify slab preparation at my cost  , I laughed and said no as I have already paid them for the cost of permit which includes SITE INSPECTION.
In the end I said I haven't got the patience or time to argue the point and told them if they can get someone out fine, if not too bad as the concrete is been poured THURSDAY morning regardless.Cheers

DJ,
here you're required to give them 48 hours notice, but then it's up to them to sort it out. If they can't get there in time it's tough. Builders have been known to ring up on a Friday afternoon to book a Monday morning pour. Of course, the inspector doesn't usually turn up until the last concrete truck has left and you're washing up, if at all. I may have even done it myself, once or twice.
