Certainly NOT in our case. Re-using the slab (and not having to redo plumbing, etc.) saved us well over $100K. Rebuilt house is the same room layout as before (which we were perfectly happy with), we only simplified the roof design to make it more fire-resistant (also now BAL19).

well a few hours work this arvo and its in.
just relying on the left over "stickyness" of the squares rather then fully gluing everything down just yet. still want to give it a bit of a trail run. can see in the 3rd pic I was fairly generous in my gaps around piers and the wall. I figured I can always hid this with some trim if I'm desperate.

Just under 4.5m with 22 drawers of storage for garage.... all for the measly price of $120 (plus $90 of other misc to install it)
Some guy selling of a ton of second hand office furniture, literally had to get it out of an office building but it was all in great condition. The section missing is a spot for my shop vac as the whole thing is going to be my mitre saw station.
The spare one will be used as a drill press stand.

It really is a ton of storage. The top still needs to be cut in and around the engaged piers on the wall.
But the bottom normally has these adjustable feet inserted into them. I'm considering putting them into the top so i can perfectly level it and have it properly co-planer

Next job will be to put some cabinets and shelfs above it to replace the crappy single shelf that is there. But i need to work out the dust extraction first
