Inherited shed books
Approximately 18months ago I lost my father in law, he was the person I'd get face time with to have lengthy conversations about shed topics from everything to pouring slabs, shed constructions through to the differences of compressors and screw designs and uses.
Due to my background being in IT for the past 15yrs vs father in law a very competent diverse career as a civil engineer by trade with many other qualifications, I was always in awe of the fascinating conversations we would have which primarily consisted of him teaching me more than me providing anything equivalent to him.
Just recently I was given the chance to browse through his books that no one else seemed to be too interested in. There are still another 9 boxes left but the first one I opened up covers the same topics of shed related titles we often discussed, I haven't been able to put them down since receiving them and I wanted to share on here.
The lathe and workshop related titles from the "Workshop practice series" is absolutely fantastic, covering a lot of the metal lathe related concepts I learnt during school but promptly forgot and things like taps and dies. All foundational but essential for my workshop antics.
Having been a long term user of this forum and reading up about lathes,Induction motors, vfds, tool making etc I now can expand on this with this stack of books. Never going to be a qualified machinist but definitely a set of valuable resources in my long term Hobbies of the workshop career
Another 9 boxes left to go
Cheers
Nathan

What a fantastic reference library. You will have no need of the forum wisdom any more. We will be coming to you for answers.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

for me it has hit the nail squarely on the head. This forum has provided so many terms and conversation that ive used as pointers to explore further, if over time i could contribute something back to the wealth of knowledge already here would be amazing.
Drills, Taps, Dies i know how to use primitively but now being able to explore it further i hope to be able to make my own one day, love reading the WIP of the plane making challenges and the screw designs to secure a blade, pretty awesome work.

Tubal Cain was a metal work teacher before and has his own Youtube channel but I did not know he also wrote books in the past.
