Haven’t updated in awhile, have been having issues with the plaster joints cracking. And therefore resetting a majority of what I ave done. Using csr easy flow (3 in 1) and paper tape.

The issue it seems has been the tape not adhering to the base coat of plaster. To overcome this I have thinned the plaster (added about 5mm water on top of a new bucket and mixed with a paint mixer) and wet the tape. This seems to make the tape and plaster adhere much better.

Anyway fingers crossed no cracks show up this time round...

New floor done, looks much better than the old one.

Will nail the interior trim on this weekend and start painting next week. Getting close now.

    Well been busy

The carport area is now painted and the inside is almost finished.

A big thanks to Ross for lending me his router table to make the sill nosing and modify the architraves a little.

Some progress on the driveways and landscaping. The drive ways will be exposed aggregate which is a local blend of about 50/50 white stone and dark stone. Have a little trouble getting a shallow enough ramp up angle into the carport and still complying with the council rules.

Have yet to decide on garden edging. I am lean towards grey sandstone blocks or the timber look alike concrete sleepers.

    Cheers

More progress lately. Driveways are done and roller doors are on. The rollers doors were a very tight fit which was planned but none the less a tense moment was had until it was clear they would be fine.

Currently in a mad rush to get the garden edging, irrigation and turf in before Xmas.

Layed a compacted granite footing for the Kwik kerb to make sure it was nice and straight/level and stays that way.

    More to come.

We drove past the other day Alex and saw some of the concrete down. The edging Looks great and those roller doors really set it off. Bet there was some heart in mouth moments when they were going in. You both should be very happy with the outcome.

    Thanks Ross

Well that’s it for the year. I can happily say the shed is finished. Only a few minor things left for the electrician to finish next year. A stark contrast to where it was last Xmas.

The dog glued herself to grass for a couple of days as we haven’t had much more than dirt the last 3 years.

Anyway time for a beer, hope you all have a good Xmas and new year!

    Cheers

With all doors open that will not be a dust trap as most sheds are. Well thought out and it looks fantastic.

    Hi Chris

The idea was was to get as much cross ventilation as possible with the doors and windows as it can be pretty uncomfortable in a shed here in summer. I guess the benefit of this will also be to help dust move on - seems to to be doing the job so far.

Hi Pat I’ve moved some junk in to get it out of the house for Xmas but I need to start planning some benches/shelves ect otherwise it will just become a mess. Will try do this along with some dust collection before bringing anything substantial in. So close but so far...
