LED Lighting Panels - where to buy?
My 6x7 shed is currently lit by eight twin 40W fluoros. The installation of ducted dust extraction has interfered with their placement so I thought it might be a good time to upgrade to LED panels and possibly get more bang for my bucks.
A quick search and ring around identified 1200 x 600 panels for $167 each, more expensive than I thought, especially compared to fluoros. I'm told they give off more light for less power but the capital cost looks prohibitive.
Does anyone know of a cheap source, preferably in Sydney?

this thread (and others) talk about these panels.
Edit - and off topic. Where abouts in Oberon are you based? Much of my fam lived back there for many a year ('87 to '16) with now only one member till out there. I've been meaning to ask and the post about the ducting yesterday made me chuckle

The lumens/Watt of new Fluoros compared to LED tubes fixtures is around 25% in favour of the LEDs.
You have do your sums to work out your payback time which depends on your intended time of use.
If you are only using lighting for short periods every now and then the new fluoro tubes may still be economical.
If you have old fluoros the difference can be over 100%.
In my case with my 40 year old fluoros and fittings it was close to 300%!! so payback time for just replacing the old tubes with LED tubes (Ie no fittings) was about 12 months of use so a no brainer
My LED tubes are now 5 years old and there are now much brighter LEDs and Fluoro tubes available.
You basically have to shop around for the best Lumens/Watt/$ deal but you could maybe start by replacing your current tubes for LED tubes?

My place is out near Edith. I do know a lot of locals and in fact have been made an Honorary Local. I said to the bloke who announced it at a public function "What do you need to be a true local?" He said "your grandfather has to be buried in a local cemetery". To which I replied "I think I could arrange that".

I bought a bunch of these
Philips SmartBright LED Batten 11W (600mm) or 21W (1200mm)
from Bunnings. Not sure what the pricing is now but I got 10% less then what it was online. Ended up being the cheapest lumens per dollar I could find.
Ive only installed one, the rest are still in their box, but the one I installed is working great. It doesnt come with a plug.

I'll second Reduction Revolution, great range & great service. I ordered some of the ones Fletty got, but then they called & said our courier won't deliver to my place. Will deliver to Macksville, but not my place 600m out of town, so went to RR who had it delivered in a couple of days.

I lit up my shed with pure white LED strips from Wish. Cheap as, and they were very effective. Ran them from a 12v battery, charged from a solar panel on the roof.

I wonder how he's dealing with the heat from those strips. I have 3 x 4m strips attached to a loominim pipe across the shed, and the tube gets pretty close to too hot to touch. I'd be worried if it was enclosed in any way. Even thought of running water through it to cool it all down.

Good point, it just popped up in my YT recommendations and the practicality of it is another thing altogether and something I would not have a clue about. How effective are the strips you put up?

G'Day Chris,
I ran a 5mtr strip in my under-house shed across the wood stack.
I fixed a 2x1 batten to the underside of the floor joists and a length of 25x3 aluminium flat bar to that, which the LED Strip was stuck to!
Works well, good bright light to see the wood stack and only about 10w.
Cheers, Peter
