Default LED lights, Gov EES scheme.

I had a dude with subcontinent accent cold call me about a month or so back.
Being a grumpy old c who is very over stopping whatever I’m doing to have my time wasted by some p I can’t hear or understand I told him to p off and hung up.
He immediately rang me back and assured me it was cosha and he was in Oz not India.
Any hoo he teed up for his local rep to visit and check out my lights.
A young bloke who had a similar accent but was obviously educated here in Oz arrived and we went out to the shed where he made a note of all my ancient fluros.
He wanted a business card so I dug out one that was missing the 9 on the phone number so probably from the late ‘80s.
He said they had my ABN and went away happy.
I lost my ABN about ten years ago ‘cause I was working at the Uni.
About 8 years ago I did a few jobs for TAFE and to get paid had to chase it up again so I guess I must still have one?
The original phone sales guy mentioned they had it so maybe that’s how they found me.
They rang back and arranged for the sparks to come and do my lights.
No show, no phone call, nothing.
So I thought that it must be a scam as they’d got my scroll on a phone pad accepting the deal.
A few weeks later on Sunday arvo a Leno sounding dude rings and after saying wasn’t him who didn’t come last time tees up to come the next day Monday at 8am.
5 of them turn up, the boss (who’s Syrian) and his old man about my age and the general hand and 3 young blokes who’re up and down the ladders.
They installed 21 new LED lights in a few hours.
Most plug ins but where needed wired them in to the existing my bro had done 35 years ago.
Very Happy they took all the old plus extra tubes I had in the mezzanine and a bloke came with a trailer next day for the metal, the ballasts are copper apparently.
    The total cost to me?
    $33.

From the label in the last picture it looks like they are 6,000K lights, same as mine but I paid a bucket load more. How do you like the light from them? I love mine but many prefer warmer coloured ones>

    Default Hi there in Saskatchewan.

They are a little cold but the thing is I can now see so much better in my wood shop.
Its only about 10’ x 30’ so with 7 lights it’s really good.
There’s enough lights so I don’t get shadow on the bandsaw, Hammond Glider or JTA disc.
I got my eyeballs rebuilt last year and the focal length is perfect at bench height.
That plus decent lighting should stop me head butting the disc like in the past.
Im a bit short on hair anyway.

Ive been in Sass a bit over the years.
I go and annoy Mike Hosaluk whenever I get cabin fever at the rels in Red Deer.
Also done stuff in Don Konda and Jamie’s shops decades ago.
My bro in-law posted a pic plowing snow, He’s just back from Az and in lock down.
    Take care.

I have watched Mike demo at our Turning Symposium a couple years ago and go to his shop Christmas parties. I've met Don a couple times. He retired and sold off a bunch of his stuff. We had a little snow last night and there are a few flakes falling here and there now. I'll plow it after the boss goes to work tonight. Wife is a nurse so the 2 week stay at home unless necessary is reset every time she goes to work. No big deal as I'm am happy by myself and can do without people,,,,,,,,most of the time. I have 16 lights at 40 watts each and the shop is a touch more than double the size of yours. I see well enough but might as well be ready for the future.

I have been considering changing to LED's. My mate bought some replacement led tubes and the light output is fantastic. I have tried to buy the same ones, but no luck.
When you look at the tubes they are clear and all the yellow led's are visible with mirror reflectors around each one. I have tried all the usual shops and the electrical wholesalers, but no luck.
Has anyone seen this type for sale? 1200 mm long ones required.
    Thanks,
    Rgds,
    Crocy.

I bought Clipsal 1.2m x300mm LED panel lights . Put 7 in my main workshop a couple of years ago. Excellent.
