Thread: Recent Improvements in My Shed

You know how it goes, you buy something and bring it home and the damned thing sits on the floor and gets lifted on the bench to be used. I had a small mitre saw and belt sander I have had for years inherited from my father when he left this earth and I bought a spindle sander about two years ago as well and they all sat on the floor because I could not make up my mind how to get them into a permanent position without changing too much stuff.

My Mitre Bench, the fences lift off if needed and sit on registration pins. The scroll saw sitting on the floor is getting the flick because I can't find anywhere to put it so I gave it to the local Men's Shed.

When Dave TTC was up here last I finally came up with plan A after consulting with him and he largely did the work because he can do it while I am thinking about, we decided to put them into my mitre bench, the spindle sander is flush with the surface and can be pulled out on slides if the table needs tilting and the spindles sit in the draw underneath it, problem one fixed.

I am going to make a portable dust extraction cover that will be moveable from machine to machine but that will have to wait until I finish a few other projects. This year is full booked already and returning to work part time is not helping at all but it is a very worth while project and a bit of a pet project of mine. Master P is presently putting a electric digitally controlled lift on my Hammer A3-31 because it looked like I was never going to get around to it.
