    Default New Shed!

    Hi, new poster here.

Im about a week out from the slab going down then another week till i hook in and erect my very first shed. Im a very firm believer of do it once, do it right first time.

As winter is apon us, a comfortable atmosphere inside our mancaves is what we all desire so we can spend more time in there than inside with swmbo nagging us we haven't done anything around the house.

The question is how have you all insulated your sheds/workshops/mancaves?

I like the idea of the anticon rockwool for the roof but is the same acceptable for the walls? Value for money between that and the aircell type everyone keeps referring too just seems like a huge difference.

Has anyone sarked over their wall girts and bulk insulated the cavity between columns similar to a timber frame brick veneer cavity (girts/tophats) being the cavity gap.

    Regards,

    Mac

So last week was pretty stressful and full on between work, study and trying to get the slab prepared. I put in quite the hours before inspection Friday but got it done. Poured and finished the slab Saturday. Here are a few progress pics, next weekend she goes up!!

Looks to be a nice size slab, what size is it?

I went aircell for all 4 surfaces as I added a wooden floor over the concrete for my comfort. Aircell is worth the money, in my book.

I used Anticon for the roof, rockwool batts for the walls in the metal work end of the shed and Aircell for the wood work end. If I had just WW I would use Aircell for the whole shed.

Yes - just laying the insulation over the wall girts is fine.

Can never have a big enough shed, plenty of storage. It's
    10.5m x 6m, 3m at the eaves

    Cheers

You got a bathroom or wash area going in. I noticed the pipes.

I'm sure you have allowed for your wall sheets not to come in contact with the concrete when finally installed. If not, consider a thin barrier of bitumen tape between the sheets and concrete, this will help prevent the bottom of your sheets corroding if in contact with the concrete.
Great size in shed, looking forward seeing your progress photos.
