My Shed build - finally!
This is a follow on from this thread here: https://www.woodworkforums.com/f245/brisbane-neighbours-estate-opposing-shed-da-190337 I figured now that my application is approved I should probably start a new thread.
So for the first time in my life, I am finally in a financial position to build a workshop. Its something I have dreamed about for many years since we bought our first house. I am also in a financial situation to buy a few new (preferably second hand) machines too! First tools on my list are bandsaw and jointer. But I digress, lets build a shed first.
I decided I would document this one from start to finish. So here is a piccie of the site:
I have already removed the back fence in preparation. The shed is going on the left had side in that picture. Thats my table saw under the tarp, had no where to put it to date. The rest of my tools and machinery are in the garage and a storage area I have under the front deck. The rest of the are is going to be leveled off and I will have a driveway on the right so I can access the garage in the rear of the house.
Google street view shot from the back (the poinciana is now gone), my house is the brown brick place with the 2 grey roller doors.
Shed is 7m x 5.4m, with a 3m carport on the end. I wanted to go 6m wide but it made it a bit tight for the planned driveway.
Earthworks start next week pending weather.

I glad that you have started a shed build as for some reason my imagination had your back yard sandy colour dry grass. I was well and truly wrong on this thought.
Anyhow I have pulled up a chair to watch the build.

No sandy dry grass in this part of the world at the moment. Its been raining pretty much everyday for the last 2-3 weeks! Part of the reason the yard looks so terrible at the moment. I am actually going to go out and attack it with the whipper snipper shortly, although I am not sure exactly why when its going to be all dug up next week,

Best of luck with the build may all your contractors turn up on time and do their jobs properly.
watching with interest. Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything, but they
bring a smile to your face when pushed down the stairs .

Panel saw moved out of the way now. Grass trimmed back
That mess right up the back was a garden. Our place is cut into a cliff, and at the front is a suspended slab deck area that bridges the house to the street. I manually excavated underneath that area and concreted it in as a temporary workshop. All the gravel and crap is right down the back.
It was too hot to be working out in the sun today 35degC and about 50% RH.
