Mel, I would hesitate to store tools in the laundry. It is a very humid environment. I think you may actually find it easier to weather proof a structure on the patio than stop steamy air finding your your tools in the laundry. A conservatory full of plants is probably also going to be a rather rust inducing environment.
Cheers
Matt
what about this sort of slim shed on the end of the patio?

Well I have moved in.
I took my old dirty tatty ex school workbench, stripped the old masonite off the top, stripped the yukky rubbery glue... Found lovely grained 10 ply underneath.
It cleaned up a treat. sanded to 180 only (not going to french polish a work bench am I ?), danish oiled. It looks fantastic, actually a feature piece in my sunroom but still functions as a workbench when I need it.
Am looking now for a good slimline storage to put against the wall to store tools.
I am one happy girl!!
Good on you, astrid.
way to go
could you make a slimline shed using timber and claddiing?
