Some people give little thought as to how much effort we go to in preparation for work to be undertaken. Well done, hope you manage to get it done before they start on the shed! I had just enough room to allow 1 metre along the fence line with my shed, gave me somewhere to stack my slabs to dry once cut. It’s a pity you didn’t have a little more room to play with. We make do with what we have though! [emoji3]

Thanks Cal.....They delivered the shed this afternoon, installer called and said he's been delayed. Coming Thursday, working out well for me. There is only a couple of meters to do. Yes it sure is a pity about the 600 mm space! Just glad that i have a space to work in....It would have been great to do the complete shed build and install myself but i just don't have the spare time. We also renovating the house atm...

Interesting looks like the portal frames are supported on I assume a steel anchor or solid concrete block in the ground and the slab poured after

Looks like you've enough room for about a 3-4 metre extension on the front when you need it.

Well...nothing done by the installer. He promised that he will come tomorrow morning. Meantime i bought some circuit breakers, 6 mm sq cable and led light fittings. Bunnings has nice 4ft fittings for $25 (Philips). Basically i need to have light for the concreter. I will fit four lights temporarily and see if i need another four. Still deciding whether to have the light circuits separated... Raining outside, maybe i'll wire in the circuit breaker feeding the shed and the cable today. When i moved over to Aus i did my wiring rules course, had an argument with the lecturer about the way RCD's were wired at the course. Anyway the Sparkie wired my board the same way....i will most likely re wire it properly. Problem is they wire the board by taking she shortest / easiest route.

Could you elaborate on the wrong way and correct way to wire an RCD please

When they wire them and their supply comes in from the bottom of the switchboard then they just wire the supply to the bottom of the RCD, which is actually the load side. It would still do it's job but its not the way to do it. The lecturer was pointing out that when people test their RCD's by means of the test buttons and hold the button too long it sometimes burns out the test tripping circuit. I said to him yes it would cause they wire it wrong way around. With a correctly wired RCD the tripping circuit is "disconnected" from the supply side soon as the button is pressed. So you can hold the button in all day if you wish with no damage. So there is a reason why the mark them Line and load side. There are new ones these days that don't need to be wired cause they allow for both ways.
When i was trained in the trade they were very strict....

Spent some time in the roof space today, pulled in the shed power supply among other cables for our reno. Cut the concrete.....fed the cable through, which was a pain. I will make a cover to protect the exposed cable at the wall. Added a draw wire to pull in network cable later.
