The work has stalled again in my shed have had a backwards step in my health. I have finally finished all my power point channels and all the places that I have had to use conduit to put the light switches in and to the side of the shed that I could not make my channel reach for my last 2 power points. I also put in a power socket for a air con unit. Now only awaiting the sparky to hook it up to my main power at my switch board and also wire up the power box in the shed. Now a waiting game till the sparky arrives. This gives me time to clean up and start making the upper and lower cabinets and also draw systems. photos to follow

Hi Michael,
Don't forget if you need a hand to finish the shed, I'm happy to come down and help. I'm only a PM away.

Just showing my slow progress since my last posting. l got the last of the power cable channels done a total of 20 power points wont have a need for extension cables on the floor just waiting to fit the time in with the sparky. Been thinking of making a channel for the dust collector down 1 wall I'm just working out the details. Some of my hand planes have a home, finished the automotive sound system box & 4 speakers mounted on the 4 walls and dvd player & tv mounted, made my fist cabinet for the drop saw need to make the wings for it, and 2 flip top cabinets are on the books to be made. I am slowly getting there

I recommend putting any PP and cable runs at 1300 mm.
This allows you to stand 1200 mm high sheet goods up against a wall and not restrict access to the power points.
I didn't do this in the shed extension but I did it when I rewired the old part of the shed, in fact I put 5 of the 8 power points overhead which is a much better way to go all round.
The new part of the shed now has 10 of 17 PP overhead

I am going to put my power points up high, I have eyeballed it but could not tell you the exact height at this stage. I am also going to have some overheard points.
My initial idea was to run conduit at about 2200, then drop power points down from that, but Michael's idea looks much more functional. I am a sparky, so I just think conduit for everything!

Yeah finally got power to the shed that passes safety standards. total of 1 X 15 amp 22 X double 10 amp 3 X 4 sockets inside 3 X doubles outside
now the hard work to start doing all the cabinets and empty the 2 small tool sheds. Turned my lathe on for the first time in 6 months because I did not have to work with the lathe connected to an extension cord under my feet
