A new shed - maybe
I've been looking at properties to rent for the last couple of weeks now that my house sitting gig has finished.
I think I found the place today!
It has a carport big enough to hold my van (and several of it's friends) with a 4 metre roof height. Attached to this is a SHED. Same roof height, 3 phase power (not needed just now), big doors that go all the way to the roof. Size is (guesstimate) 7 metres by 15 metres.
There is a house on the block but the details are unimportantGeoff

You've sure as hell got your priorities right, SS
Go for it, you could live in the carport/shed too and sub-let the ?house?....help to support the wood habit

The shed has heating!
Sheer luxury!
In my day we lived in a shoe box and huddled together for warmth.
Nice shed
SG.... some old things are lovely

Just to show I haven't completely ignored the house, here's the view from the kitchen sink.
Just to show I still have my priorities in order, I've included a view from the carportGeoff

Geoff its too small honest you know.................. they fill up so fast
Simple solution a mezzanine for storage is in order.
No time for views you have a shed there's work to be done and being heated (it better be gas or oil no wood to be burnt) you can work all year round.

Now that's a shed.. plenty of potential in that. Oh and .. yes , the house looks pretty good too
Reality is no background music.

Well after three weeks wait for the real estate agency to do whatever it is they do, the place is finally mine! Sign the lease and get the keys tomorrow.
It will be a pleasure after 6 months in Tasmania to finally be able to drive the van around without it being half full of crap.
Still have to do all the 'fun' things like arrange to get the power turned on, find an ISP etc, etc, Not to mention buy some furniture, I got rid of mine when I left Sydney.Geoff

That took some time didn't it Geoff its a large place after the last one thats for sure I see the need for a ride-on mower also. Beaut spot Geoff with the shed size just remember all the stuff accumulates over time.
So furniture making is on the agenda??

It's certainly bigger than the last place I called home.
I'd like to make the furniture I need but will get the basics from op shops or somewhere like freecycle. There's lots of woodworking expertise I can call on from the guys at the Living Boat Trust, quite a few cabinet makers in the ranks.
They too have the priorities right, when I told a group about the house yesterday the first question was 'How big is the shed?', the second was 'When's the house warming party?'
If they only want me to make boat shaped furniture, there's a certain forum where I can ask my dumb questions.Geoff

A compromise for the old boaties/woodies a shed warming with the theme - "Furniture making in a day"
