For those of you who have covered your walls in OSB, do you paint them? I'm still torn.

Yo pete, OSB is not very common here in Oz. Come to think of it I have only see it used as shed wall cladding on one shed and the owner said he got the OSB because he picked up a removal crate made of the stuff. Most people here will use chipboard, plaster board or ply. I used miniorb corrugated iron for the metal work part of my shed - the more I look at it the more I wish I had done my whole shed with it. It is nowhere near as echo-y as I though it would be.

in my old age I've leaned more towards function over form in the shed
soooo.... if it's sealed when you buy it, does it really need paint?
I'd say no, but if your lighting could benefit from white walls... then yes.

in your situation (in the basement) I'd say you'd kick yourself later if you don't paint the walls white

That's what I've been thinking Moe. Now that the laundry/mechanical room has been walled off, there are fewer lights on the shop side (not that it can't be remedied) and it does look a little darker, even with the lights on.

I'll need to use some primer first though. The OSB has some black printing on the smooth "finished" side so I'll have to knock that out first before painting them white.
