    Orange and purple!!!
And your build had been going so well.....

(P.S. don't listen to me - do whatever brings you joy in that space)
I bought a sixties house and the interior was all those sorts of combinations. The kitchen was bright orange and lime green. Every room was different. Eventually after some years, dear wife finally got me motivated enough to repaint the entire house. 18 months later we sold it.

Our house bought in 1978 had "lime green" shag pile carpet, wall vents, and door frames. The kitchen had orange and green laminex, the lounge room had 3 pink walls and a wall with lime green, fluoro blue and silver paisley wall paper and tasteful wire cut brick fireplace with a smokey grey glass lintel. The front veranda room had tan/umber hessian droopy ceiling and dirty yellow walls. The sleep out (enclosed back veranda) had Midnight blue walls and red, white, green and blue striped curtains covering a wall of louvres.

Some time later we found out a previous owner was a working girl and the back room was her dad and son's bedroom. Mind you SWMBO choice of colours were pretty startling. The lounge walls eventually became a rusty red, one bedroom is cornflour blue, and the passage is eucalyptus green - all too dark for me.

Back to the OP - nice work on those cupboARDS.

Well, what a lot of drama getting power on! A couple of months delay from the power company, then my electrician getting covid, then my excavator going AWOL in the middle of the job, then being unable to locate the existing mains, then getting rained out, it was finally turned on yesterday! Three "highbay" lights in the main part of the shed, plus LED batten lights in the "garage" part and the mezannine, as well as all the power points working, it's time for me to start getting things sorted.

Unfortunately I fell off the scaffold while I was putting it together for the sparky, and broke at least one, and maybe both heels - so I'm on crutches for 6 weeks, and can't really get into the shop.

A couple of not-exactly fitout update photos below.

    Simon

The shed is looking terrific. You maybe not so good? Are the heel/s cracked or mashed? I am assuming the former. either way that is S890house bad luck. A bit late for me to say be careful.

    Simon?

Wow hope your heels are ok, not the news we wanted to hear.
Glad also the shed is getting sorted.

    Cheers Matt.

Hhmmm I think there's an answer to the mezzanine access question in photo number 4.....

I hope the feet come good without too much pain. Must be frustrating having the power on and not being able to get out there but don't be tempted to go too hard at the expense of complete healing.

    Thanks all.

Lots of foot pain, will be crutches for 6 weeks. I declined the moon boot, don’t want that. I used to be a runner, and saw the damage the boot does to condition and movement.

Yes a bit frustrating. But working on small things when I can. Have done the frame for the new assembly/outfeed table, but cutting the top will have to wait.

Having power and dust extraction again is lovely!

Once I can move properly again, I'm going to keep an eye on gumtree etc, and get a demolition staircase.

Any thoughts about orientation and position? There's not enough headroom to have the top of the stairs at the outer edges of the mezzanine.

I know it kindof depends on what I can find, but a few options occur to me

    - from one side, up towards the centre

    - from one side, round a corner, towards the centre

    - from the middle, with a landing/turn

    - others?

However, I think I want to put a new dusty on the far right in front of the mezzanine, or maybe outside (lotsa hassle).

    Thoughts?

First set of drawer fronts on the drawers. Going to paint them one day, but not soon, so put handles on in the meantime

Those drawer fronts look too nice to paint - why not just put a coat of clear on them?
