Solar Air Conditioner
Hi everyone! Has anyone got solar air-conditioning in their shed? I have not got pricing yet but I am looking into this.
I'm not sure how I would get the air quality good enough to air-con the whole shed but I might do half of it. Depends what it costs and any other issues I may not have thought of.My YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/2_KPRN6I9SE

From all that I understand, you're far better off installing a normal Solar PV system, and using this to offset your entire house consumption/usage. Then simply turn on whatever air conditioner(s) you want and when you want them.
We have 17kW ducted air through the entire house. Another 7kW air conditioner covering an enclosed outdoor sunroom. And in the new shed we're fitting out, a 3.5kW and 7kW unit.
On our roof, a 10kW solar system. We got hundreds of dollars in credit over Winter, and the credit continues to build (albeit more slowly now, due to La Nina and cloudy skies).
I will also note, whilst we only use the outdoor and shed air conditioners when we're in those spaces, the house ducted unit never gets turned off, and we generally run the house at 23 degrees.
If you are keen to find out more numbers, let me know, I have full monitoring and consumption data and happy to share.

When you say solar air-conditioning, do you actually mean an air conditioner powered by solar panels.
Or
Those solar powered whirly birds? The ones that are an electric fan powered on when the sun shines?

Yes. You can get enough panels and inverter to run an aircon.
However Midnight is correct. I'm not off grid. I'm better off to get a solar system big enough to run everything in the property. Right now I am trying to learn about solar quality because some quotes I am getting are 3 or 4 times the cheapest quote. Apparently thousands of people who bought cheap systems in the past are already having to have these replaced. My YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/2_KPRN6I9SE

I got solar panels last year and found solar quotes a good place to start.
SolarQuotes | Get 3 Solar Quotes From Your Best Local Installers
They constantly review all that is available and give no bull $#!7 advice. Great place to learn about just what you need. They are a bit like choice for all things solar. I really knew very little to start with so was very glad they are there doing what they do. When you have done the research with them then you have a bit more confidence to find someone to put panels on your roof.
Regards
John
