When you said below ground stuff, I thought, beauty someone's putting in a decent tool storage or a wine cellar.

Sorry to disappoint Kryn, but wine at our place doesn't last long in storage. As for the tools they'll be sitting on the slab once the roof is on and the weather outside.

How big is that, Huon? I'm guessing around 12.0m x 8.0m. Are the cross-beams in the slab because of the poor foundation material? And how thick will the slab be?

The beams in the slab are as per BSA engineering requirements for general purpose slabs (non commercial) and any raft slab shall not exceed 6.om between any integrated internal beam. Minimum thickness for a general purpose slab is 100mm

Yep 12 x 8 the footings 300mm wide x 500mm deep the fill area footing is 600mm deep. The stirrups sit on pads 300mm deep the height of the stirrups are 495mm, the right angle plate is 250mm x 250mm. 250mm square timber posts will bolt onto the stirrups.

looks good but why stirrups in the middle?
Is the shed going to be partitioned or maybe the remainder done in timber?
Keeping the centre area clear of supports really makes a difference to how a shed can be used

Don't worry SB we have thought about it, love Tas. Cycled around the Isle in 78,done a few walks there over the years, did Frenchmans during that cold snap a few weeks back, still recovering.
Bob the shed will be a traditional timber framed shed (mortise and tenon, trunnels). The inner stirrups will accept 6.65mt principal posts, the outside stirrups will accept 4mt posts. Posts will be 250 x 250mm.

Yes it is a great spot, as good as Tas which makes it hard to up roots.
And I hope the shed will meet expectations. At least mine and if my squeeze likes it that's a big bonus.

A bit of progress at the moment (nothing momentous), some work on drainage and the apron. I was going to put in a steel channel but realised I'm missing a 6.5 masonry bit, funny how the little things in life can stop you in your tracks.

Nice progress, might be slow, but it's progressing. I'll bet you'll be glad to see the framing up????

As soon as the weather eases up I'll start the milling of timbers.
