I have a cable, in conduit, following the extractor pipe from the main work shed to the dusty shed through the large hole I cut in the e tractor shed wall. I didn’t want to drill holes in the new storage shed to run cable in.

My woodworking shed had backed metal shelving that basically went from floor to ceiling and while great for storage, it took up valuable floor space so it was all moved into the storage shed along with other metal shelving that had the paints and painting equipment.

I then put up new new wooden shelving that allowed me floor space underneath. New small lightweight work bench/shelf that allowed for the storage of the Aldi bandsaw and saw table jigs underneath.

Next job was to build a fold away table that could be used for small jobs, glue ups etc. and could also act as an extension to the saw table.

If its not not in use, it can be folded away against the wall so I get my floor space back.

Still more to go but I’m loving the extra floor space I’ve gained.

I'm always looking at ways to claim extra space in my shed so I can see exactly where you are coming from. Sometimes it's only small changes that seem to make a big difference especially when your work area isn't big like I have to deal with. I'm sure you now stand back and see a massive difference, not only by removing dark shelving but replacing it with smaller wooden objects that are nice and light in colour.

You should notice a big difference by halving the spacing you originally had.

Thanks. Thats what I’m hoping. Centres now down from 600mm to 300mm so the particle board floor should be more stable when moving the machine cabinets around.
