    Angry Another timber rack

I finally got sick of trying to move around and find timber in one storage section of my shed so decided it was time to build another timber rack.
This is what it looked like before I started.

Then I cleared out along the wall

    Then I installed the uprights

    Then I cut the arms
Then I found that I had ordered the incorrect tees
I am 200km from the supplier and it is Xmas/New Year shutdowns
Looks like my best laid plans have been delayed for a few weeks.

That's a lot of timber stored in there, do you have a purpose for it all?
Nothing worse than getting something wrong this time of year and can't do anything about it.

It's a bit of a sad story actually. I was born with a hereditary gene that my grandfather passed to my father who in turn passed to me. Apparently science is yet to come up with a cure. On the bright side I am doing better than Dad... I don't collect second-hand masonite! I have three sons and one is possibly showing early signs of the gene.
By the way, there is another rack not shown in the pictures

I think most of us have a bit of that, just some more than others.
Your shed looks to be in a nice rural location, certainly not Melbourne as your location says.

Correct Treecycle, my shed is down the south-west coast, a beautiful part of Victoria. We generally spend 3 or 4 days most weekends down here although down for nearly 3 weeks at the moment.

Bit of an update. I was very fortunate to find that a local rural supplies outlet had some correct sized tees although not as many as I wanted. So some progress has been made.

My shed is on 2 levels because of the slope and one problem was that I couldn't open the gate because of some long lengths of huon. I was getting sick of climbing over the gate in addition to the jumble once I got over the gate!

Now the long lengths have a new home

And I don't have to climb the gate

That's a terrible problem you have with all that Huon getting in your way Glad you were able to source some tees and make progress instead of having to wait till next time you're there.
That's a good effort getting those planks up on the top rack, looks very high.

Well the job is finally complete. I must admit it is an amazing transformation from the jumble that I had to tiptoe over.
This is after I got the correct size fittings and put in place some shelves.

This is how that wall looks now

Then to top it off, SWMBO made the great suggestion to piggyback another rack off the rack in my work area

I like the style of rack. How wide are the pipe stubs. 300mm or maybe a bit more? If I did not have some spare timber for my recent racks I think I would have gone down your path. I find I go down the path of least expense, which inevitably means more time and effort.

Yes they are about 300. I wouldn't rate this method as a least cost option if buying new material as I did, but it is certainly quick and easy.
