    Default Upgraded my Storage

Thanks to an idea from BobL on this thread...I have rearranged my storage. I had a lot of light weight items like steel wall studs, electrical conduits and small dimension timber on the sturdy wood racks while 1/3 cube of New Guinea Rosewood sitting on the shed floor and always in my way.

I made saddles from 9mm ply which were screwed to the webbing of the Joists.

After cutting 40mm square blanks from free pallets I got from an ATM supplier..I then turned them down to approx 38mm dia dowels...and these slipped into the saddles.

All the light stuff was then placed in the ceiling racks, leaving the wood racks with room to store the heavier timber.

I now have more space in the shed for bigger projects.....Thanks BobL for the heads up

Thanks for the idea Bob..don't know why I didn't see it earlier. Sometimes I have so many things I want to do in the shed, I miss the obvious ones that make life easier. The best this about this storage project....the cost......I didn't purchase 1 extra item to do it. All timber, ply and screws were already in the shed

Very nicely done, Skot, and Bob.

It looks like you have effectively doubled the size of your shed. I have to do similar, but where do I put all the junk while I level the concrete floor??

Also, what is the MDF box around your chop-saw?

Graeme, It's there to restrict the dust from flying around too much...when I get a decent workshop DC network , I'll drop a 100mm duct into it. At the moment the bulk of the dust builds up in the back of the box and I clear it out periodically.

I would use anything less than 150 mm for a single ducted machine. The only time i'd consider using 100 mm is when using 3 of them simultaneously.

Thanks Bob....I'll put you on Staff as my personal "Ideas Man".........I'l have to remember that.

I better put a grill over the opening to the piping..at 150mm, my offcut piece may get sucked up into the DC

As that saying goes, "I have lots of opinions - if you don't like them I have others" , same goes for ideas.
