Ok, home a litter earlier tonight so will post the last couple of days work on the mitre bench.
Cut the 45's with the circular saw, gave them a little whisk with the block plane to smooth them a bit. Marked out and made a jig for the toothed joint. Hit them with the router and then squared up with a small chisel. I used the offcut from the 45 to cut the teeth from on the table saw. So far so good.

Hi Guys yes the extra space is very cool Christos, I love it. Ok some more shots of the bench, what a heavy mother of a thing, not looking forwad to the install. So the rebate where it drops onto the main kitchen island bench is done, got the mitre joint cleaned up and glued, lots of sanding and the first coat on the outside faces. So far so good.

You're too kind Ray, I'll box them up and send them off to you If I was only taking off 5 or even 10mm I may have used the noisy dusty rooter but for 25mm it was quicker and quieter to knock it out with the big chisel and then just smooth it off.
Yes Mals Spotty, great fiddle back
Old love was pretty upset at my leaving the old shop. Had a call on Friday, she had defrosted the fridge and was worried that it hadn't cut out for quite a few hours so told her to leave it over night and all would be well, as it was. My Mum & Dad look after her quite a bit and she knows that when they are away she can call me for assistance.
I will post some pics later of some goodies my new neighbour has given me. Great old guy 80, has had many years in multipul trades and industries with heaps of good old stories and antique everything tucked away in his old house.

Will be trying for a few dives but we have to get TH's office set up and build walls etc for home. We have to have it done pretty soon bacuse our house will hand over to the new owners in about 4 weeks. Not much time to fool around. I have also been doing a few other small jobs along the way, some chair repairs for a local electrical wholesaler, I have another 30 fish and chip boxes to make and a couple of dining room tables to make. I meant to take some photos of TH's new office, been painting that in my "spare" time
Anyway my new old neighbour, Don (80yrs), has handed over some of his cherished tools that he has had for many years. The larger saw is a Disston Philly progressive pitch and the smaller is a Disston made in Toronto Canada, production of this one stopped around 1920 apparantly. I haven't had a chance to take any details off them, both are in good condition and just need a sharpen and set. They should both be great users, the smaller one has been sharpened more than once and the blade is almost back to the handle There is a Disston saw set and the marking guage was his fathers.

A quick sign in to see the haul (hate this damn having to sign in to see everything except sales).
Nice of the Don to part with such fine tools.
Thought TH would have been doing it all on her own...........
You must be wearing all these other blokes ot with all the work your making them do CH even Christos has been quiet.

Yes that is some lovely Spotty Waldo, very lively. Once I get a few more coats on and polish it up, well.
Hey Ray, been a bit quiet hasn't it. TH has been earning all the money while I get the new digs ready so
as much as she would like to be doing her own areas up it has fallen back onto me. Oops forgot to get photos again Three new lights and some blinds and her area is almost done, other than her joinery, booksheves etc.

Gaza, Ikea? TH is an "Architect" Ikea is a very dirty four letter word, it is for me too I'm afrade. Goes against most of my principals (the few that I have) It will be some sort of carcase with some nice doors added to the front and I will be doing some solid timber tops (most likely) Also have to do some large sliding doors that will hide all her printers, plotter and scaner etc. Lets just say some creative joinery. I'll have to put up some before and after shots.
Opening, it will be a little while. I still have to get my new roller door down my end and a few more things tidyed and organised. Still have a shipping container to get and 4 or 5 tons of timber to bring over. Then I'll be up for a beer and an opening
