No time like the present! During my weekly trip to town last week, I picked up a few sheets of 6mm MDF to use as lining board as it's the cheapest thing I can find. A few coats of the finest acrylic white sealer ($39.95 for 10 litres!) make it some what resistant to moisture and certainly brightens things up.
Removed the old shelves and manages to salvage most of the timber and the backing board which was 2 8ft x 4ft sheets of Masonite, a bit ratty but a coat or two of sealer and I can reuse it to cover one of the remaining unlined areas.
I added a few noggins so I had something horizontal to nail to and it all went up quite well. Still two boards to go and then I have to move the 100kg bench from one site f the shed to the other. Time to bribe the neighbours with beer I think.
[After and before shots]
And yet more progress, another 3 sheets installed. Two are the 6mm MDF, the last one on the left is a salvaged piece of masonite. It will sit behind the (unused) stove so i won't see the holes in it. I still have to nail that one to the wall and then the lot will get another coat of white. That's 6 metres of lining done.
Of course not of the seams of the MDF sheets lined up with the wall studs, which vary in spacing from 500 to 650mm. To provide some support where the joins are, I glued a strip of scrap 12mm ply to the back of the seam and them put screws through from the front to hold it until the glue dries. Seems OK .Geoff

Another 3 panels installed and painted today, it's starting to look quite neat - a bit too neat.
I was just up in the shed looking for something and found an unexpected bonus with the all white colour scheme, the incandescent lights which up to now have been useless for any night work, actually work well with a white wall to reflect off.
Managed to move the bench, after I took out the bottom shelf (50kg), Lift and drag one end and then the other which took about 10 minutes to do. The floor on the opposite side i not level and the middle feet (6 legs) are about 12mm too high. Tipping the bench over to plane 12 mm off the middle legs is not as easy as packing the other legs though.Geoff

Hi Everyone, this is my shed, warts and all.
I am pretty certain my shed would rank very highly if there was a listing for the most untidy, this is generally how she looks on a day to day basis.
Basically this is my double garage, any kind of vehicle storage in here was long since rendered impossible
Apart from the bag-end of the dust collector which is relegtaed to the outside, pretty much everything is in here.
Timber and veneer store is relegated to the outer walls and machinery consisting of 10x8 planer/thicky.400mm drum sander, router table, horizontal borer,SCMS,bandsaw, drill press and metal workbench.
I have a rudimentary 2HP dust extraction sytstem with 4" ducting avaliable to most machines and basic cyclone separator.

Love the clock, a real work of art. The cabinet and table is very nice too, keep up the good work.
