    Default Aggy Day at Semour

I'm down in Melbourne on another flying visit, fly back Tuesday, to attend a funeral and quick catch up with relations. Trying to coord to meet my brother and he says he is attending the Aggy Show at Semour (at the showgrounds) on the weekend and I should meet him there.

He tells me they have woodworking, timber milling and chainsaw stuff amongst the other farm stuff, so sounds Ok.

Anyone else know of it, or going? Looks like I'm going on Sunday after lunch.

    Cheers
    Neil

    G'day Neil,
I've been before a few years ago, and if you can get past the Alpaca Addicts and the Goat Gurus, there really is some good Woodie Stuff on display. There may also be this really spunky lady doing chainsaw carving....'nuff said.

That on this weekend , thought about going this year a month or so ago. Been about 5 yrs since I've been. Where abouts are you staying Neil? Might be able to give you a ride or we can meet on the way.
    Cheers

I'm going with my mother on Sunday and meeting up with my bother for lunch beforehand. But I'll PM my phone and perhaps we could catch up there.

Did end up going today and having a stickybeak for a few hours, bumped into Brickie and his charming wife. Didn't see Neil though, he was probably still at the pub with his mum and brother , caught up with him yesterday so that's cool .

Saw some interesting stuff and bought a couple of things.

Got a tripod jig thingo that holds the bar up for you on the chainsaw and positions the teeth and holds them firm while sharpening them. Will take some better pictures of it next time I'm sharpening the CS. Also got a dial indicator and magnetic base

The guy who makes the CS thingo also makes these for lopping all you branches for firewood, just load it up and then cut away

Saw this on another stand, great little gadget for doing mortises with a chainsaw safely.

Plenty of joy flights in the chopper to, didn't go on it though.

Lucas Mill and Super Axe were there too.

Few different furniture makers there, but this is the only pic I took of furniture

Yes, we had to go to the show, I was supposed to go yesterday but couldnt make it due to work commitments

Then I saw this really big ugly dude and thought, Hmmmm, RUN.......

Nice to catch up again DJ.
I didnt see Neil either, I kept my eye out too after you said he would be there..

PS, the mortising jig for the chain saw wouldnt be that hard for a DIYer to make, and a fine idea it is too.

I was there guys, but not for long , I would have liked to spend all day there. After an hour for lunch at the club acrosss the road, I only had time for a quick dash to the chainsaws & chainsaw carving, then to the opposite end of the park (why not together ) for the Lucas mill and jigs, before my mother of 82 was warn out. She normally has a sleep around that time anyway, but the heat took it out of her too. Probably was only there for an hour at the most, sorry I missed you both.

My bag is full (20kg spot on) for the trip back already, with a few plum tree off-cuts and heaps of brass bar off-cuts (dia 2 to 20mm and up to 300mm long) my nephew got me from work , so I didn't buy anything. I was looking at all the sharpening jigs and electric versions for chainsaws, but assume they will have the same things at the WWW show in Bris in May.

    Cheers
    Neil
