But .. in any case .. Had a great talk with Bushmiller last night and will be meeting up with him Sat morn and will pass on the 'log' and the blackwood .. I only got a very small shed and this is gunna free up some much needed overhead shelf space.

Also ... my shed and shack are on a mountain which is part and parcel of mine. Many parts of this are inaccessible and no-one alive has ever been in to them .. maybe no one ever. But I go in quite often and so will take photo's of various spots .. It well may be that there is some good timber or burls or whatever you guys call them ..

If I see something I think may suit I will photo and ask you guys if you like. Then we can just arrange to get it down there when someone is passing thru Brizzy.

I don't mind dropping a dead one now and then as I do this for firewood in winter anyway. I am mainly into the scale-modelling forum and the only timber I use is Amoora ... suits all my needs and I know it and its behaviour well ... when your on a good thing stick to it ... Haaaaa

Also .. you have all been so kind .. if you are up this way .. Buzz me (will give my address to Bushmiller).. drop in for a brew .. also if we get a bit tiddly and talk long into the night I have a guest shack as well ... no problems. The Bunyas are a very scenic range. Will look forward to catching you guys in Sep-Oct down there or up my way before then.

You need a lean too or two Greg for timber storage or another container 40fter maybe LOL.

Yes ... I wouldn't mind another 20' box. 40' boxes are quite cheap up this way, they have only one problem ... they need a semi with a box-winch to move them .. whereas the 20's only need a tilt tray.

But my sorta policy is that if I haven't used something within a year or two of storage then its time to move it on. Only way I have ever found to keep things neat and tidy ... its a tough discipline but it works.

Forgive my ignorance, I'm new here. What is this all about? I sorta get for those attending they can bring some tools or some stuff for swap. Does it cost etc.

Yep, all free. Bring something for the BBQ (or not). See post #1 for what will be provided.

If you have something to sell or swap then bring it along.

Basically a chance to rub shoulders with, and try your skills out on some of the best BS artists going around.

No theme, but there may be a little wood turning happening.

It's about 157km and 2 hours from Orange, but I just drove it on Google 3D in about 4 minutes. Both places will be very pretty at the time of year (although the promised fire colour of my Jap Maples is a bit slow this year).

I'm about another 500 km south of orange but of it works with when I'm going to orange then 157km is just a walk in the park. I'll keep you posted Brett

You know Pat, I've been waiting for someone to ~~put their foot in it~~ errr, suggest they could bring up a chain saw. I have about 8 firewood logs about 900mm long that need docking so that I can split them.

Edit: They're about 250mm dia, just so you know what your looking at.

Brett a Bowsaw would be better for you . . .warm you up as you dock to 300mm lengths, then split with a maul and wedge.

Thee will be plenty of that Peter Bushmiller is bring it down as well as what Tony is bringing.
