Many Thanks for the brilliant day, TeeJay and Family.!!

HWMNBO and I had a fantastic time, wonderful to catch up with old friends and meet new friends/forum members. You make the best salads and Tiramisu, TeeJay

Well, we have have had two lots of extreme weather at the last two Qld GTG's, I reckon we must be due for great weather for the next Qld GTG

Dear Rocker, Thank you for the Woodworking Magazines. I will treasure them.

We went through the tail ends and sides of a few storms on the way back, but the best two sights were not being able to see from one side of Somerset Dam to the other due to the amount of rain falling directing into the Dam and the other sight were all the flooded creeks and low-lying areas after Somerset, before Esk and all that water should end up in Wivenhoe Dam!

    Thanks again TeeJay!!

    Cheers
    Wendy

    A pleasure Wendy.

I must confess I had some help with the cakes but Ella didn't with her salads.

    Cheers

Thanks to TJ and Ella for a great afternoon. Was nice to catch up with old acquaintances and meet new ones. Thanks to Simonatra for the beautiful pen and whoever made the pig sticker!

Was all over too quick and didn't really get a chance to have a decent chat to everyone but it was a most enjoyable day.

We're off to Dream World now before the rain comes back!!

    Cheers all.

    Hi TJ and All,

Yet another Eastern states big, fun gathering. Well done all.

    Thanks for the photos too.

When you write 365 kg it does not look all that much but when you see the photo of a beach cricket team standing on those little Z frames it gets a WHOLE lot more impressive. Outstanding Major.

    Cheers

Default The Ingredients for a Great Day of Friendship

A big vote of thanks to TEEJAY, Ella and all who made me feel welcome at the get together. Had a very enjoyable time and met some interesting characters.

Could it be a first - the host out doing the shopping for goodies while his guests/friends are arriving and taking over his house? It's a good feeling when others are as disorganized as yourself. Many noticed the engineering prowess of TJ with his patio roof. I don't think it will really needs all those floor boards attached to the underside to hold it down - best you let me take them off your hands!!!

Love the scientific way you do destructive testing on your chair joints Rocker - beats those high tech engineering methods hands down. There is a chance you could add a few kgs to the max loads - we are after all just past the festive season and maybe a bit heavier that our last weigh-in!!!

Sound Man Joe. It was a good try at getting Neil's burls into the mix for door prizes. Too bad he took them out again.

I'm convinced dai sensei Neil must have heaps of female friends judging by his desire for selecting two of Wendy's note books from the door prizes. Nice try at putting us off by suggesting you need one in every room to jot down all your creative ideas!!

Simonatra Sam and his dear wife could set up as child minders after seeing the way they entertained TJ's young one. Who had most fun playing 'smash up derby' with the matchbox cars Sam?

Thanks to all the door prize donors - way to go - more prizes than people!!

It was a great day and TJ a special thanks to you for sharing your home with us all and organizing it.
    Cheers
    Baz

Thanks for the offer Teejay. It will be interesting to see if I can have mine up and running by our next BBQ.

I was going to offer some off-cuts, but sorry, not all of them

I wish I had heaps of female friends, but I'm afraid I am just addicted to Wendy's notebooks - Thanks for another one Wendy

A huge thank you to Mr. & Mrs TEEJAY for a fantastic day!

Great to catch up with the usual suspects & meet some new ones. The only complaint was TEEJAY didn't organize the outdoor air conditioning.

Anyway here are some photos, I haven't had a chance to do a description of each but you get the idea.

AHH a good time was had by all.
    certainly no one went hungry

seems the monster multi pass lucky door thing is here to stay.
come to think about it I think neil's last gathering was the the last time I remember not breaking one of rockers joints..... so from this time forward I think we have to test some sort of joinery to distruction.

pitty we didnt get to start up a chain saw AGH AGH AGH AGH

I think TJ wanted to get back at a neibour for a 2am karioky session.. but to no avail.

a good day all round thanks TJ & EJ

    cheers

SWMBO and I had a great day irrespective of the weather and it's attempts; and the day was really made good from the great atmosphere brought by those that attended both forumites and their partners.

The time seemed to fly by when we were all together as is the way when you are having a good time.

Thankyou to all that attended and a shame a couple couldn't make it - we had a ball.

The pics you took Major help fill in the gaps from what I posted - thanks.

The neighbours here are fine with the occassional noise as we all take turns in doing this - I haven't made as much as I would like but this will change once some more woodworking projects come on line
    Cheers
