    Default Gifkins dove tail course

    Hi All,

Some of you are aware I have a boxmakers dovetailing course (Gifkins) in early january next year (3 - 8th Jan) at Mittagong Sturt school of wood. My wife is due to delivery the jnr apeman on the 17th Jan. This should be ok, however if apeboy decides to come early then I obviously will not be able to attend the course as my priorities will change. Thus I am trying to contact Sturt to let them know this is the case, Im sure they wont care if I dont lob up so long as I pay... however If I cannot attend and I am ALLOWED to I would be willing to "sell" my place at Rogers course. I am prestty sure Sturt would rather have a full class considering theres ony 8 spots in the course and it fills up rather quickly...

Please PM me if you wish me to "waitlist you" (assuming I am allowed to - I will contact Sturt and get them to provide a ruiling wrt transferring the course and let the "successful applicant" know). Note the dates of teh course are fixed. You would obviously have to be available for the times that the course is running. the approx cost is $450 odd...

    Cheers
    Zed

forgot to mention, you would need to be able to lob up on short notice, for instance if the jnr hairball arrives on the 29th or say 2nd jan then you're either up or out... so to speak..

oz are those bung holes or earplugs ????

I've checked with Sturt, they will honour my swapping at short notice if my kid arrives early. If anyone is interested please let me know.

    obviouisly;

    1) short notice (Ie dependant on when wife delivers)
    2) need to be available between 3rd Jan thru 8th Jan
    3) have approx $450 for the course payment.

Um Daz, I don't really think we should be joking about this topic. If I was moderating this forum you'd be deleted.

    Just my opinion.
If at first you don't succeed, give something else a go. Life is far too short to waste time trying.

I agree - probably not a joking matter. Was an excellent way to ensure that my grand daughter arrived before my openheart surgery. Not too sure if a Gifkins (or any other course) would warrant going to those extremes. She was already late anyway!!

As a person whose wife has had two emergency caesarians and is now limited in the number of children we can have, I find that comment reasonably offensive. I think elective caesarians are repugnant and disgusting and should not be allowed. I assume that you are joking and if that is the case then I am not really offended by it but it is probably not all that appropriate.

Well sorry to anyone who was offended by my post which was totally meant in jest.

My first child was born by emergency caeserean section. Luckily we had elected to have an epidural block line during labour (people even slag that off) and when our son went into distress they were able to inject her spine and cut him out fast. I think he was out within 6 min and the dr said he had a couple of minutes left before he would have died. And I was there as they cut and saw the lot so perhaps I am a little desensitized.

Our second was an elective caeseran as the Dr was afraid there would be a recurrence of the first problem.

So sorry to those who were offended and perhaps the moderator would be kind enough to delete it that would be great.

As for elective caeserans DanP I think you are a little harsh. I am about to go in for my ninth knee operation and I am quite adamant that I will be having a full anaeshetic. I dont think I can judge anyone else on the amount of pain/discomfort that they should have to endure so as long as they leave me alone I will reciprocate.

    cheers

I can't help you with the course mate, but I can empathise with you about the impending baby. MiniTrav is due on 18 January - our first. And I can't wait.

Tried to cheer you up for the heart ache of the possibility of missing Roger's course by giving you a red for the spelling mistake of the Roman emperor's name , but alas I have to spread it around before giving it to you again. At least I was thinking of you.
