Default Melb. Tool Drool March 18

    G'day,

Just a heads up that don't know. The next Melb. Tool Drool is on Sunday 18th March 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

I just notification of it in the mail via the Postie, but damnit and bugger it I can't make it because I'll be in Brisbane that weekend.

It's great that I'll be in Brisbane but really sad because I'll miss the Tool Drool, and I missed the last one.

Sean, we won't be going, decided we had too many other things to get done. Bruce has to finish building a bed and I have a pantry to get done for SWMBO. Next time's a definite .

Just got back from the HTPAA tool sale (My first one ever), and I glad to say that I am the owner of three wooden molding planes with hollows profile.

The first one is marked J. Baxter J. Miller 37 Clayton St on the front and at the back their is number 8.

The Second one is Well & Chapman Newcastle and has a number 9 on the back end.

The last one is a Varvill & Sons Ebor Works York, it also has a stamp shaped like a crown/bishops hat with the words REG EBOR also has a number 12 on the opposite side.

Do the numbers mean anything outside of size, the 8 is the smallest the 12 is the largest?

Cost me 16 dollars all up so I am more then happy.

Now time to polish and clean.

    Hope to bring photos.

    AAARGH!

I really gotta start using the calendar for more than just decorating the dunny door.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Thumbsucker - I'd like to see a pic of that crown marking.... I've some old chisels that I've been trying to id for ages and they have a crown stamp on them.
Love the HTPAA sales.... a good day out!
    Cheers,
    Clinton

Clinton - I do not have a camera, but I drawed you out a copy of the crown. Its not the best but it show the components and the layout.

The blue is the crown body (its very much a bishops hat), it has three crosses at the bottom, three circles to the top right. It has two ribbons at the bottom (Pink). It has a fine halloo (the squiggly lines on the outside) with REG at the top and EBOR at the bottom.

    Hope it helps.

Went along with the young bloke yesterday, usual fare on display, Josh's mission this time was counting spokeshaves (counted over 100), mine was finish browsing & buying before Josh finished

Just came home with a large homemade set of dividers with nice solid sharp points.

    Cheers..................Sean
