    Arrow Newcastle Wood expo?

Anybody going to the Newcastle wood expo Feb- 29th ,1st ,2nd at the Entertainment Center? I am going for my first time this year and wanted some feedback or comments from other stall holders and punters.ie.
    What are the crowds like?
Is it well set up and run?

Also I will be looking for someone in the area to do some thicknessing and surfacing for me just prior to the show. Know anyone?

    Cheers!

we also have around 40-60 Camphor slabs upto 1500mm wide, and 40 silky slabs upto 800 most are around 3M long... Oh! and a lot of BURL

Unfortunately we will not be selling timber at the show. the stall costs are $800 and this does not include Public liability, we will however be at the Karhuah Oyster and Timber Festival the following weekend (8/9th March) we will be demonstrating the LUCAS MILL and hopefully some woodturning, we will take a good sample of our timber slabs, red Malle burl and various other types of large burl slices with us.

    I'm going to be exhibiting there....and I can't wait.

This show will herald (yes - herald) the introduction of the SawStop machine to the Australian market.

I'm gonna be there, feeding sausage after sausage into this machine, until it finally dang well cuts one of em.

OK. It won't cut a single one of them, but I'm still super keen for the show!

I'll be there. Probably go along on the Saturday and check out Ruddi's SawStop. Don't you have to change the cartridge(and blade) after every sausage?
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Yep takes less than five minutes.

And when I say I will be feeding sausage after sausage through the machine, I actually meant to say I will be activating the brake mechanism three times a day. Blades ain't that cheap, you know.....

Check out all about the Newcastle Show at www.woodturners.org.au/Expo--pg4579.html
We will have a number of demos by Roger Gifkins so you can check out all his new goodies like the finger joint and MEGA joint templates.
Also our local boxmaker Greg Lawrence will give demos of the boxes we make as Club projects and will be selling timber kits for these boxes. Milton Whiteford will be giving a blanket box demo and the finishing touches have just been put on to the Grandfather Clock which will be raffled during the show. It's a cracker!
Our woodturners will be demonstrating turning of various projects during the show as well.
Lots of woodworking goodies, demos and great discounts on timber and tools throughout the Show.
Easy transport by car - see map on the website - or by rail. Just dismount at Broadmeadow Station and walk 100m up Brown Road to the north.
PLUS - Entertainment for the fairer sex with Australias best quilt and Craft show!! ( see more at www.craftfair.com.au)
She'll be in such a good mood you'll be able to buy any tools you like!! (I'm going for the Saw Stop saw if Brendan will use his own "appendage" in the Demo of the brake)

Hope to see lots of forumites there

Just to clarify - the sites for Expo 2008 start at $350 and Salty72 has been offered a site at $450 as we know that cash is tight (thanks reserve bank). We are hoping that Salty72 will take up the offer as he has some fine timber and services to offer. Public liability is of course madatory for all exhibitors.
Love to see you there Salty72
If anyone needs to contact the Expo coordinator there is a link on the website in my previous post www.woodturners.org.au/Expo--pg4579.html
