    Smile HSC major work idea.

I'm currently studying Industrial Timber Technology year 12, and I am thinking of changing my idea from a suspended outdoor banana chair thing, which is quite large 2m x 3m, to a 90cm x 60cm dog house.

However I remember reading somewhere that the project must be a furniture of some sort. Eg table, bookcase, entertainment unit etc. but I can't fully remember if it is true.

If someone can tell me if a dog house is suitable or not suitable for the HSC, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, a dog house would be suitable for a HSC project as most of the members of this forum have been in one some time or another. Therefore the said dog house would be considered part of the furniture.

here's the link Industrial Technology - Board of Studies NSW
I'll let you find the right document and read the requirements

    BUT
my reading is that a good portfolio and partly completed project of "moderate difficulty" will score better than a good portfolio and project of "limited difficulty"

Unless self-discovery of the right answer is part of the required process for HSC - you need to talk to your teacher. The forum may give you the right answer but then again - it might not.

Better to ask the person actually supervising your work and responsible for accepting your submitted article of work.

Whatever your project - Good Luck.
