I have an older version of this hanging on the wall in the shed - have had it for years. Mine has been a very good unit and never missed a beat, though the battery does not last as long between charges as it once did. Still long enough for me to go right through a large 4WD and clean the floors though.
A few years back, the wife bought a Dyson portable unit of similar size. The B&D absolutely killed it, and it wasn't long before the battery in the Dyson was completely dead and we threw the thing in the rubbish - even from new, the battery in the Dyson did not last as long between charges as the B&D did.

Yes, received and used today.
It is replacing a B+D DustBuster 1688. I think its as old as my adult kids!
The batteries gave up the ghost recently. No more pizzaz. I looked to replace them, but the batteries (1.2V 2200mah Sub C Ni-Cd x 16) have gone ballistic in price since I last looked at them. China seems to be having some.... issues... with some things.
SO! Rather than futz around spending $50 t repair a $59 replacement.... it was a no brainier.
So far I'm very pleased with it. I did the kitchen and "laundry" with it. Its decently powerful, but a noisy beastie.
If I were to get one for the workshop and car, I'd consider this model, which is essentially the same, but with a snorkel

DONT FORGET to use CamelCamelCamel.com to watch for the best price!!!! For example, the machine above is $118 today, but was 66.38 a few days ago. Create an alert!
