Cool Free international delivery on Amazon.com.au

I don’t know if this is a permanent thing, or just a bit of a promo, but you can get free international delivery for anything ordered through amazon.com.au if you sign up to Amazon Prime. There’s a 30 day free trial which is easy to cancel before any billing occurs, so it’s worth it if you have something you need to get.

I buy a fair amount internationally, and the delivery can often be the deal-breaker. I was after a Freud dial-a-width dado set which was about to cost me $40 delivery, when the promo box popped up (“why pay for delivery when it can be free”)... clicked the box, and it’s on it’s way with $40 saved.

Prime is around $7/month, so even maintaining a subs for 6 months is still break-even territory for a $40 saving if you find you like the streaming and reading perks that come with Prime.

You’re limited to international items available thorough amazon.com.au with prime-eligible delivery, but there are nice things available to woodies, like:
    Incra gear
    Wixey
Amana tools (they make a great flat kerf blade and do some good router bits)
    All at pretty significant savings

If you find anything else juicy on the site, please post here!

    I use Amazon continuously.

Use a tool called Keepa.com - its a plugin for your browser. It records the current price of any item and tracks it. You nominate a price that you'd like to be notified on. When it drops to your nominated price, you receive a message (sms, email) and a link to the product on Amazon. It also shows you detailed historical pricing going right back and a pretty graph.

    Easy! ... and free.

I keep price-tracking of all the things I need in life - TP, paper towels, cerials, pallets of cat food, coffee ($16 a bag!).... soap..... etc etc.

With the Prime, its free post, so I order it piecemeal and save a fortune on pricing, get it in bulk and pay no post.

    I highly recommend it.

I'm surprised more businesses dont use Amazon for their distribution. They are, after all, just a logistics company.

My daughter looked at it for about 5 seconds. Apparently if you end the relationship she was told that they dispose of any remaining unsold stock by throwing it out.

I bought a pipe threading kit from Amazon recently. I think it was the first time I bought anything from Amazon. The pipe threader was about 60bux I think, and shipping from US was about 85bux. I signed up to Amazon Prime for 7bux/month. I figured by the time the 7bux/month added up to $85 I'd be a mile in front. Since then I have purchased several single $2 items, all with free shipping which would normally cost me a few bux for shipping. I've also been enjoying falling asleep while watching the first 30mins of a movie on Amazon Prime Video which is included in the 7bux/month fee.
