    Hi. Woodworking forum, in case you weren't aware.
    Is it hardened? I'd hate to try and use a mild steel pinion in whatever a Lightburn Mixer is.

    Maybe should be moved to here https://www.woodworkforums.com/f226 as cement mixers don't really fall under the umbrella of woodworking or metalworking.

    For your information, Lightburn used to make washing machines and then they used the same bowl to make cement mixers.
    I made my own from a washing machine about 38 years ago and the pinion gear is Aluminium alloy and it's still going. Real good design.
