Thanks for the heads up Woodchopper. Do you happen to know much about this machine? I'm pretty new to woodworking and wondering how hard this would be to setup and use for a newbie vs. buying new separates.

Nevermind - it sold while I was trying to figure out what it was and whether I would be able to figure it out. It was a K26 from the mid 80's.

    Hi Rhimes,

After a busy day, just catching up on messages now. Yeah, I didn’t think it would last long at that price. In answer to your question, combo machines are pretty straight forward to use. Some people complain about the time it takes to change between modes (on my combo machine about 30secs), but most people’s complaint is about losing settings (moving fence, height of thicknesser table, height of saw blade etc) if they need to go back to machine an extra piece of timber for a project etc. But they are a great machine if you are short of floorspace in your workshop (as I am). The build quality of the European ones (Felder, Minimax, Robland etc) are superior to the Asian made machines. Also parts are easier to get your hands on because most European brands have agents in Australia that can source parts.
