Default A set of molding planes - Gumtree

Not associated with the buyer but here's a case load of wooden hand planes.

I would have love to have grabbed these but I'm trying to control my tool acquisition disorder.

They have been up for a while so maybe it's possible to negotiate the price.

That's a very nice case of planes! Makes you wonder how many are languishing around in dark musty corners?
    Must be an astronomical amount!

It would be nice if that was true.

In the states there are woodworking tool fairs everywhere so it seems but i hear so little about things like that in oz, especially in the Sydney region.

Id be happy with just a set of no 2, 4 and 8s!

There’s been an annual tool sale in Sydney since 1986.
I started them after attending one in the US in Xmas ‘83.
Still going but now run by The Traditional Tools Group which I started in 1991.
Usually advertised on the forum under announcements or hand tools.
Used to be big, I had over 800 punters in the ‘90s after a photo of myself sitting in a stash of planes made the ‘what’s on’ in the Saturday Herald.
    Enjoy.

    Buyer beware!

There are no pictures of the planes, no details of the wedge and blades, either condition or their fit. The bodies may be twisted. You cannot see what you are getting. You do not know if these are H&R or complex moulders. The presentation is all show. Their value may be as low as $100 for all. For competently refurbished planes - if all Hollow and Rounds - the value is around $500.
