VIC Diamond Creek, Red Cedar for sale
G'day,
New to the forum and have been out of the woodworking shed for too long, I think the last piece i finished is going back nearly 6 years now. I'll save everyone the tedious story and keep as short possible by saying this. Grew up in the shed building furniture with the old man, cabinetry his first trade, also had an uncle who was a master craftsman making antique replica furniture. The Old man passed away a while back, a bunch of his stuff got shipped across the country at considerable expense, and has mostly been sitting in my shed for the last 10 years taking up space. Now we're moving to QLD at end of the year and I can't ignore the problem that is the shed any longer.
My intention is to keep a few select pieces as I have a few projects in mind that'll honour his memory once I get to the new home in QLD and set up a workshop, but for now seeking expressions of interest that'll help reduce this stack to approx 1/3 its size. What that basically means, is if someone is interested in buy a lot of one timber, then i may elect to reserve the other lot for myself or vice versa, so please do not take any offense when i say yes i'd like to sell this timber, but not all of it.
For reference let me introduce 'The Stack' that needs to reduce to a 1/3
The_Stack.jpg
Basically, the stack breaks down into 4 categories;
1. Raw red cedar, cured ~30 years old.
2. Recycled red cedar, aged ~30 years cleaned, and redressed all sides
3. Recycled red cedar, aged ~ 100 years, cleaned and redressed all sides
4. Recycled Rosewood, aged ~30 years
This post relates to the raw cedar, item 1 with details of qty and size still available as follows. All of these lots are for sale;
Local purchase and pickup preferred subject the covid lockdown restrictions easing to allow so, otherwise happy to post or ship within AU at buyer's expense. Happy to discuss bulk sale for all items listed, please contact.
Lot 1. 920 x 278 x 64mm Qty 1 @ $85ea

Hopefully, these cedar pieces and will find new homes and projects and provide much enjoyment to those who dwell in the sheds.
If any questions, please ask.
TIA
Matt

What side of leaper land (Melbourne) do you live? It just may help your sale.

A shame I don't have more room to store timber right now
That said, as a reminder/hint, if this sale is listed elsewhere, it should be moved to or listed in "For sale on Ebay and other sites" (https://www.woodworkforums.com/f253)...

Ah good advice, my bad i should have picked that up. Not sure my account is fully enabled, don't seem to be to access or edit some things like profile and settings...
Yep - nothing quite like sorting through the stack to give one the wonderlust of all the projects that could be, but need to be pragmatic with what i can afford in time and how much i can afford to move 'stuff' across 3 states. I'm sure there be some nice local timbers to be found at the other end.
I'll hold of listing the other 3 batches until i get a better sense of the forum and sort the settings thing out.
Cheers,
Matt

Is there a way to migrate the post or any suggestions on marking items when sold? or should i just add a line to the thread?

Hi Magilla,
All good, and welcome to the forums
You can edit the post to include details if it's listed elsewhere, you could also (or alternatively) flag the post (grey triangle in the light grey bar at the bottom of the post) to note/ask a moderator to move the entire thread to another area if you wish.
Given you've a number of items for sale, if you can, I'd edit the original post as things get sold, if that isn't an option due to forum timeout on editing, I would simply post along the way in the thread as various lots get sold, that way everyone can be up to date on it.
