Couple of grand saving on new, although he'll have paid a bit less than the current price. Bit more limited with 3P in terms of prospective buyers though.

He messaged me back to confirm its 5hp not 3, which makes more sense.

Would love to have 3P and $5k to spare. Suspect wife would want her house extension first

Unless you can convince the better half that you can use the table saw to build the extention... Haha.
Don't worry I had the exact same thought process. I'm waiting on the new Jobsite saws to turn up. It's about all I can accommodate in my little shed.

You know where I am, if you want to come for a natter or a workshop session. Just don't expect any woodwork expertise!

Mate, I've managed to convince, NOT SWINDLE my missus in letting me get a panel/table saw to help BUILD her two window sets wir for her and the little Miss decking for the front and at the back with a coffin ceiling in one of the living areas and MPR room convert to her office with built in shelving bookcase. Get in there and tell her you'll build it! My sister reckons I got jibbed. m starting to realise I got swindle. Oh well least I get a new toy!

Congratulations on your victory sir. However, I'd be packing my dacks at pulling off a project like that without having results similar to homer Simpson's spice rack.
I'm still very much infant skill level but hope to pull of a move like that one day.

    Hey mate,
I'll take you up on that once we're covid safe. I've got some ideas but not worth risking a zillion dollar fine.

I've got a similar commitment to Her Indoors. I'm working off the $5k I admitted to having spent on woody tools, job by job. Unfortunately, she won't "credit" the value I tell her . So far:
    - piano stool (2x4s and pocket screws - don't hate me)
    - hall table (smaller version of above)
    - 3 boxes for essential oils (I was just practicing box/dovetails)
    - bathroom cabinet
    - pickler climbing frame for grandkids
    - basic work desk for son

And I've committed to two floor-ceiling (3.5m?) bookshelves with cabinets at the bottom. Mostly I think she's interested in a house extension! I can't wait to tell her all the toys I need for THAT!

Apparently all my shop furniture doesn't count
