Some old work
Seeing that Woodmanoz got the ball rolling for Pyrography I thought that I should contribute something to get some more discussion going.
I was introduced to woodburning (pyro) after enjoying a demonstration by Kiwi Graeme Priddle, at I think the 2004 Turnfest, going home with an Ironcore machine to do decorative embellishment on some of my woodturnings. The Ironcore being great for heavy burning/stamping but a little clumsy for fine detail work so I modified the pen changed the fixed connection to a socket type (Dick Smith) added a Razertip lead and pen and I was off with the "butterflies".I soon discovered that the "cheating art" of transferring images to turnings, boxes and blank timber canvasses was extremely rewarding and relaxing.
Without rambling on too much I am adding some photos of my original 3 embellishments. The images on the box are from "Introduction to Pyrography by Daniel Wright"
Cheers Kerry
