Good place for designs & Learning
What are some good place to get hold of some simple designs to get started in engraving.
I would really like to eventually do some "old Style" farm house scenes on leather - is that possible ?
I have no artistic skills what so ever!
I did a couple of hours course at Birdsall Leather and made a drink coaster which gave me the basic idea.
I am surprised that the Evening colleges dont run a course of some sort...
Any way at least we have this now!
Thanks
Greg

Cartoons are pretty good, simple lines, easy to trace and good to practice on. As for old style farmhouses - absolutely!! I have no artistic skills in drawing, sketching or painting, but I found tracing and cutting in leather was easier for me and heaps of fun.

Thanks Wendy,
Some of the work I have seen around makes me wish I had some Artistic Skills.
I make a fw guitars and I have seen some engraved Leather Pickguards on the net and they look fantastic.
I also like old rustic looking cottages , farmhouses and old bush scenes.(Makes me wonder why I live in a city?)
I might start off with the cartoons as you suggested -
Regards
Greg
