    Default Prototyping - remote pouch

A quick and dirty proto. I've been using inkscape to draw up my plans, works well and when printed end up actual size. Looking to improve repeatability and also make adjustments easier to do.

A few things to adjust for next time but overall happy with how my vision worked its way into reality.

Just some thoughts after having it attached to my backpack for a day...

Leather used is far too lightweight. Will use something more substantial for the next build. Lining the inside would be nice so no metal surfaces coming in to contact with anything scratchable. A separate piece added to the rear as a 2 way belt loop, or some other method of fastening to a belt/straps/etc is also on the cards.

And finally, a stretched longer and a little wider version to attach to my backpack straps might get a run. Wont take long to alter the plans in Inkscape, so I'll see how that works out.

I usually prefer to have the remote attached to the camera - it’s the only way I can be sure it’ll be there when I need it. Perhaps a leather pouch that attaches to the camera strap.

Otherwise, well done. How did you do the stitching?

    Cheers

A pony makes it soooo much easier to saddle stitch. Line the jaws with leather for non-marring grippiness.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

yes, that's the idea. angle the jaws a bit and wrap some leather over the top. will post a pic when done.

Well this is what I have come up with. I might yet fit a t piece at the base, I'll see how it goes. I put two holes in so I can move the clamping bolt to suit the piece. Can always use spring clamps as well. I glued half inch~ish strips of leather on the inside of the jaws, so far seems to be non marring.

All up I spent maybe 600yen on materials.

Now I just need a new project to test it out.
