Default FREE - JEM Watercraft Sabalo 15. Needs finishing.

This is something that I started a looooong time ago, and it's been sitting around untouched for the last 5 years or so.
I think it's time for it to find a new home.

The hull has been assembled and all of the internal frames are glassed in. The outside needs sanding and glassing once the cockpit areas and decks are in place. The cockpit and rear storage area have been assembled, and I had started to fit some recesses for foot controls for a rudder. The recesses are partially glued in place, but need finishing. There is a rudder that I had started to make, loosely based on Hairy Mick's design, but I can't remember how it was all going to go together. There are some tubes within the frames to carry the rudder lines, and the foot pedals are around somewhere.

Apart from the addition of the rudder, I had made further changes to the standard plan by adding a hatch to the cockpit in between the feet, which allows access to the forward area for storage. I had also planned on making a cold storage area below the mid deck, but hadn't got any further than just cutting out some polystyrene for the walls.

All of the ply is there to finish it off with the exception of a lid for the central hatch, but there is no epoxy or glass mat.

To be honest, I really would like to get something for it, so if you would like to offer me something feel free. If no-one shows any interest, I'll offer it to the local mens shed, and if they don't want it, the tip looks like it may get a visit.

Pick up only from Birkdale, 4159.

Might be worth putting this on the kayak fishing forums as well. They are all a bit quiet these days but it would be a shame for this to be thrown away as it is a good fishing craft. The work already done to add the central hatch makes this one even better.

Agreed. This would be such a fun project.

The other option is Scumtree. I’ve put the odd thing on for the price of the materials (and said so), and it’s amazing what you can shift

Gone to a new home, and not to the tip.
