16" Band saw with Euro Blade guide help and other small question
Hello again all
I just purchased a second hand band saw from Gumtree after talking him down on price
ewe both had a happy end to a deal
I know it's not a top range band saw or brand " Ledacraft BS400" But it will suit my purpose
and some re-saw. I'm sure it will out perform my little 10" i got from a garage not long ago alto there no decal on it it's a Bunning Full boar thing my drill press is a full boar as well and it runs very well
The leda. It has a 3hp motor, rubber is on wheels are in very good condition even after seeing that it was used, without the machine being aligned, anyway all is in good shape I can't find a manufacturing date on it but he reckons it was just a year and bit old I cant confirm this but the local leda has one on display and the only diff. is the table insert is rectangular not circular like the display model I don't know if that makes a difference or not. I put a straight edge on the table and I'm happy to say it quite level.
All knobs are working as they should but a bit of cleaning is required they look very dry so first question.
Is it OK to clean them off whit some CRC or WD40 and use a lithium dry lube or or any better recommendation from other members
Table top cleaning now back in the day when my uncle showed me how the clean cast table tops, was 000 Steel wool with Kerosene then wipe dry then wipe again with metho. then buff with some bees-wax to protect surface. I see lots of new stuff now but I'm unsure even after reading other post as to what is best. is the old elbow grease way best or these silicon base product and what would be recommended and this will apply to a new table saw purchase in a few months
and last tuning in the alignment on the band saw I'm OK with but i never seen these euro round guides before I seen the small square blocks and there is two different sets the lower set is the norm for Band saws in the market dual bearings guides but upper set are all round they actually look like old Harley Davidson EVO. brake pads anyway adjusting these ones, is it the same as the square blocks with a ciggy paper or should I invest in a dual bearing guides for the upper.
Kind Regards

Pic of top guides identical to the ones on my machine. I found this pic on a Euro
woodworking site but it does not tell you how to set them up
